Learning the Fingerboard (The Shearer Method—Book 3)
The Shearer Method–Book III: Learning the Fingerboard continues the development of music reading established in Book II, ascending the neck, from 2nd to 7th Positions. As with all of the Shearer Method Series, music is supported with TNT2 audio files on an accompanying media disc and additional content is supported on the online supplement. The student learns to play in keys and fingerboard positions first introduced with scale forms/harmony, and then applied in 2-part inventions (three inventions per key, graded from easy to medium, to more challenging) where upper part is upper register and lower part is lower register. The book includes 87 inventions as well as as repertoire of the masters including works by Telemann, C.P.E. Bach, Handel and more.
