Harmonia Artificiosa Ariosa, Franz Biber, arr. Hirsh
$12.00
“Baroque and Roll”
This is the first movement of the first sonata from a set of 7 written in 1697. Originally for scordatura violins and continuo, the arrangement has been transposed from the original key of D minor to A minor. The fast section’s harmonic progression (i-III-VII-IV) is a little unusual for the time, sounding somewhat modern. Available in Standard and Expanded.
